We are intend to have new baby.

But I'm wondering how have a healthy baby.

1/ My husband want to have baby girl only, and I think about using "Pink or Blue DNA gender testing" to testthe gender of foetus at week 7. Is it reliable? Is there anybody use it before?

2/ My doctor suggest me to get the baby even if there will be a boy. And she will do the DNA test with amniotic fluid in pregnancy week 14.

What should I do? Is it dangerous to abort at pregnancy week 14?

Please advice

It is costly, but you can do PGD.  Basically, your eggs are harvested and tested for the mutation (either girl or boy) and you only fertilize the non-affected eggs.  If you want a girl you have a non-carrier girl that way and you don't have to worry about aborting a child.  There is information with PPMD about this process and there are several on here who have done this.  Good luck.

Thank you for your information. But In Vietnam this process is still not applied, and if I have go to US to do this, I'm afraid the cost will be too high.

Dear all,

I've just heard about a natural food that can really help in case of muscular dystrophy: the Reishi mushroom:

Hello Van Anh,

I have done IVF with PGD twice, and I have a healthy son from the second round, and now a healthy daughter from a frozen embryo. I am happy to answer any questions that you have.

Hi Mindy,

Thank for your kind regard.

Lukily, we contact with a clinic in Thailand - Superior A.R.T , they specialize in PGD and IVF, and we're waiting their reply.

But there're some thing, I'm wondering. In PGD , they will choose non-affected embryos not eggs? Then they will freeze them all, and use when I want to be pregnant. Because I want to have 2 babies, one boy and one girl , like you. So, we need to do PGD one or two times?

How many time did you and your husband have to go to the clinic? My husband is very busy, he's afraid to go to Thailand many times. But I can arrange time easier.

And how much does it cost in your clinic ?( without any insurance). Please tell me.

Thank you again.
