Hello everyone,

It has been strongly recommended that we have both of our sons ( age 6 and 9) receive the H1N1 shots. This is obviously a bit scary, and we have been very much on the fence about this issue.
Just wondering if anyone else has gone down this road yet, and whether there have been any actual issues or complications resulting from the vaccine.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Our son Trey is not currently on any steroids as he is not showing any signs of weakness as of yet, but he is 5 years old received both the flu and h1n1 vaccinations on separate days as requested by our pediatric neurologist and he has had absolutely no problems what so ever with it.
My son took his shot on Tuesday this week and no problem. He has been on steroids for over a year now.
Alex just got his h1n1 vac about 3 hours ago. No issues. I'm glad it done. I got a call from our peditrician's office. They got a small supply today for the high risk kids.
Hi I agree with Cheri, Jon has been on deflazacort for the past 10 years. I am more afraid of Jon contracting the virus versus getting the shot. So I will be calling the Doctor this week, to get the shot scheduled.
Your doctor has the vaccine? So far no doctor's offices is this area have them. Still being given out by the county dept. of health here.

Kelvin got his H1N1 shot over a week ago. Yesterday, he got a bit of the sniffles and a very low fever, but, it is gone today. His sister had H1N1 and had a fever for over 7 days. Kelvin never got it, even without the shot. I'm not sure what the sniffles are from, but, he is fine. We are glad we did it. We only waited in line 5 minutes at our county health department when they did kids with issues, like our boys. I did call and Dr. Wong's office is recommending it (well, at least for Kelvin, everyone should check first). They approved the boys to get it, just a bit over a week ago. Michelle
Thanks, everyone. You all have made my decision easier. Our school is giving the vaccine for free on Friday and I had no idea what I was going to do! So glad to hear everyone has had little to no symptoms!
All of my kids had the vaccine for both the HINI and the regular influenza strain 2 weeks ago. They had no side affects at all. There too many cases in the school's now. I didn;t want to take the risk and am glad I had them done.
Jon got his today. Jon is 18 and is not on steroids, but anything with a cough would be serious for him. We were at the hospital for his regular appointment and they just got a new batch of vaccines in so he went ahead and got it.
