"Gene Guru" named new head of NIH

Dr. Francis Collins has been named the new head of the National Institutes of Health. He's quite well known in the field of genetics. He was the head of the Human Genome Project and is credited with discovering the gene involved with Cystic Fibrosis.

I would think that a genetics guy at the head of NIH is good for all of us interested in treatments for genetic disorders like DMD.

Like you I hope this new genetics guy will help us help our sons. Thank you for keeping us informed about changes in DC.

I agree. It can't hurt to have someone familiar with the research in charge:)
