Just wondering if anyone had trouble making the switch from a car seat with 5 point harness to a booster seat.  My son is now 40 pounds and is too big for the 5 point harness on our car seat, but he seems to have trouble staying upright with just the buckle.  Any advice on what worked for you would be appreciated.

We didn't have any issues when switching, but they do make quite a few 5 point harnesses that go above 40 lbs. You might want to check them out.
We recently switched to a Graco Nautilus for our daughter, who's right at 40 pounds. The five-point harness can be used until they are 65 pounds. At about $150 at Target, it's much more affordable than most others that allow the five-point harness for so long!

I have an acquaintance who lost her four-year-old who was in a booster-seat without the five-point harness when they were in an accident (no one else was hurt seriously), so I knew I wanted to extend the use of the harness for as long as I could.
Another vote for the Nautilus! We have had it for more than a year now and love it! Tanner is 5 and weighs about 38 pounds, he will use the 5-point until he exceeds the weight limit, then we will switch to the booster.
Thanks for all the advice. We decided to buy a Britax Frontier Xt, that has a 5 point harness up to 65 lbs. The seat is great and Lucas loves it.
