My son Nicolas is 7 and has occassionally been bedwetting for a bit now... I'm not sure if it has anything to do with DMD, but just wanted to reach out and see if any other parents have been experiencing this. Could be just a bedwetter and no big deal. I was one until about 8 years old, and I've heard many stories from parents of healthy kids. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

My son is 7.5 and still in pull ups at nite. He stays dry 3 our of 7 nites..The primary doc said he'll grow out of it when he's ready and not to worry. We ususally have to take a bottle on roadtrips or stop often.

Joshua is 6 (DMD) and he too has accidents; but his brother is 10 (not DMD) and so does he... my brother also not DMD was almost 16!!! It depends on the child, I think.

Hi, my son Bryan is 6 y/o. He wets his pants at least 2 times a day plus the bed. I put diapers on him at night.
Thanks to all.... I bought some overnight pants yesterday and nicolas wasn't embarrassed to wear them or buy them... i told him it's ok, and sometimes these things happen.... i told him that we just need to find out what works best for him so he doesn't have too many accidents... he usually only wets about 2 times a week. We're just trying to figure out routine. maybe no drinks after 7 p.m. and make sure he uses the toilet before bed. just like everything else... trying to find a routine and see what works.
If he is taking steroids you might want to pay attention to when he is taking them on those nights when he has an accident. My son is not taking steroids, but my daughter who has asthma had wetting problems when she had to be on steroids, we had to make sure she didn't have a dose too late in the day. Just a thought.

Thanks Susan... Nicolas takes his steroids with dinner. I wonder what the connection would be?? We were told by Drs. Biggar and Wong, that might be better for Nicolas to take at dinner because of moodiness when he took in the a.m. he's not been moody since (except regular kid stuff).
