We have used The Vest for our son for 3 1/2 yrs. He started using it when he developed pneumonia from an aspiration. It is simple and really breaks up the mucus so that he is able to cough it out with his Cough Assist. The two together really help him. I think The Vest is so important to use. Whenever he starts to feel his chest tightening he uses it to loosen things up. Hope this helps!

There is another product I have seen to breaks up the mucus but have not tried.
