Event Description

About Ice Duchenne

Ice Duchenne is a project of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) in partnership with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). Ice Duchenne is a weekend long, nationwide awareness building and fundraising event.

The goal of Ice Duchenne is to:

  • Raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne, pronounced “DOO-SHIN”)
  • Generate new financial support for Duchenne research
  • Demonstrate participating teams’ commitment to the betterment of all young men and the core academic research missions of their universities

College hockey players in the CCHA Conference have been asked to wear a decal with the Ice Duchenne insignia during the weekend of February 18th, 2017. By wearing the decal, players will show their support for Ice Duchenne and the fight against this disorder. PPMD is the largest nonprofit organization in the United States focused entirely on Duchenne. The mission of PPMD is to end Duchenne by accelerating research, raising our voices in Washington, demanding optimal care for all young men, and educating the global community.
